It's the little stuff...

So... Harrison and I have been giving each other a cold back and forth for about 2 weeks now!! I think I'm getting over it - and then he gives it right back to me - I think he's getting over it and i give it right back to him... it's a vicious cycle!! :) Anyway - due to being sick we haven't really been able to get out and do too much - but we have had some good times at home!

I think you might have to be a parent to get excited about some of this stuff... but I really am excited about Harrison starting to communicate with us. We're not having a communication break through or anything but it's a start! His favorite word of course is "NO" and heaven forbid we tell him "no" - he breaks down in tears!! He'll ask us for water - and he'll say "open" when he wants one of his toys opened. He also knows all the grandparent's, aunt's, and uncle's names (and calls for them sparatically which is pretty funny) and he of course knows Bel - and calls out for her all the time!! I love that when we ask him if he's ready for a bath he runs to the stairs... and when we ask him if he wants milk before bed - He runs and stands at the fridge while yelling "Milky"! (That's right those are Christmas pjs - don't judge - HAHA) It's really cute! He also knows of course who Thomas is - and when we ask him if he wants to watch Thomas (while mommy cooks dinner) he shakes his head yes runs to his couch on the floor in the living room!! :)
His motor skills are also improving.... I know you can't really tell from this picture - but this is from dinner last night... we were having meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans - and Harrison is using his fork - ALL BY HIMSELF!!! Please don't get me wrong - by the end he had half given up on the fork so he was still a mess - but it's a start!! YEAH!!

OH - and I wanted to show you guys something.... when I tell you that when Harrison plays it looks like a tornado has hit our house - and I don't even try to clean up until he goes to bed - I'm not exaggerating....

I told you - WHAT A MESS!! :)

Just for fun - here are a couple cute pictures of Harrison playing in the cabinets and talking on the cell phone while playing on the tricycle!
This is what happens when we hit our head while playing under the cabinets - please ignore the snot - eww - gross! :)

Last Friday Missy and I took Harrison and Beckham to a new "play place" called Southern Prep. It's usually a cheerleading gym but certain days of the week they pull out all kinds of play mats and stuff for little kids to play on (including a moon bounce)! They also have in-ground trampolines and a giant foam pit! I was of course really horrible and forgot to take pictures while we were there....I know - I stink - I promise I'll get more pictures next time - but here's one I got of him in the foam pit...
PS - he LOVED this place - however he and Beckham both got colds after going... BOO!!

Corey and I also wanted to take Harrison out for a family fun night before "busy season" gets crazy - so we took him to a new place called DacKids. I had heard it was like a pirate themed "Monkey Joes" - so we get there and it's a giant SAND pit!!! No kidding - there's about 4 tons of sand and balls shooting out of "cannons" - it's out of control!!! :) We seriously almost turned around before we walked in the door - but we figured Harrison would love it so we decided to suck it up and deal with the sand later! haha!! Here are a couple pictures of our adventures at DacKids...

Harrison playing in the sand...

Harrison eating the sand...

Harrison and Daddy shooting balls at the obnoxious kids (just kidding)

Harrison doing what he does best - hording!!! :)
This little chick was a BRAT - and I don't mean that lightly... she was in the little kid play area (and I'm guessing she was 4 or 5ish) - and was basically bullying the little kids!! She wouldn't let Harrison over the top of this climbing area!! Seriously - where were her parents??

Hilton Head vacation!!

The day after Christmas we packed up and headed to Hilton Head Island for a little Garner family vacation! We stayed at this great place right on a golf course - the weather was wonderful - the boys played a lot of golf and the girls did some shopping and a lot of reading - it was GREAT! Harrison got to try custard (it's like a really creamy ice cream) for the first time - and of course - like all other food - Harrison loved it! We also went down to the beach and got some great pictures....

Aunt Addie made these "glasses" for him!!

Custard - YUM!

Two for Tuesday at Wild Wings!
Harrison seriously dipped his wing in ranch dressing!! haha!
I think Uncle Bailey's shoes might be a little big... bike ride... please check out Harrison!! haha!

This might be my new favorite picture - please look how cute Harrison's face is!

Christmas in Georgia!
